How it is the same board
The date becomes the seed the board is built from. No board is stored on a server and handed out — each browser builds the same one from the same seed. The first square is fixed at the centre and opens by itself, because mines are kept away from the first click and its neighbours: click somewhere else and it would be a different board.
Days in a row
Only the daily board counts. A number you can raise by tapping one easy board a day says nothing. Miss a day and it starts again from one.
When the board changes
At midnight on your own clock. The board belongs to the date, not the moment: someone whose date has already turned is playing tomorrow's board, and you will get that same board when your date turns too. Finish it before your midnight and it counts for today; a board finished after midnight no longer counts as a daily board.
